Jane Iredale Correcting Serum & Corrective Colors

Color-correcting products for daily redness to professional camouflage

Color correction on the skin works according to one principle: every discoloration has a specific color, and the opposite color on the color wheel visually neutralizes it. Green tones down red, yellow tones down redness, peach tones down blue, lilac tones down yellow. The right choice depends on two things: the nature of the discoloration and its intensity. A light, general redness due to sensitive skin calls for a subtle daily approach. A bruise after surgery, a tattoo you want to temporarily camouflage, or stubborn hyperpigmentation, on the other hand, require more intense pigment density and professional colors.

The Jane Iredale Correcting Serum & Corrective Colors collection combines exactly these two approaches. The HydroPure Color Correcting Serum works as a subtle daily base for redness—a sheer green tint that evens out while hyaluronic acid, CoQ10, and olive squalane hydrate and soothe. Corrective Colors, on the other hand, is a professional palette with four colors for targeted camouflage of all stages of bruises, stubborn hyperpigmentation, port-wine birthmarks, and tattoos. Together with the Camouflage Brush for precision application, you have a complete system at home.

Why choose this color-correcting collection?

What sets this collection apart is the complementary approach: one product for daily skin-caring correction, one product for occasional professional camouflage. The HydroPure Color Correcting Serum cares for the skin at the same time—it is a serum first, color correction second. Corrective Colors is specifically developed for situations where standard concealers fall short: all stages of bruises, tattoo camouflage for formal occasions, and hyperpigmentation where regular pigment-correcting products no longer have an effect. Together, these two products cover the full spectrum of color correction, from sheer to intense.

How do you use the color-correcting products?

1. Cleanse the face as the first step of your routine
2. For daily overall redness: press 1 to 2 pumps of HydroPure Color Correcting Serum onto your fingertips and evenly distribute over the face with gentle upward motions
3. Allow the serum to fully absorb and optionally apply your usual moisturizer
4. For targeted camouflage of a specific issue—bruise, hyperpigmentation, port-wine birthmark, or tattoo—determine which color from Corrective Colors you need: yellow for red, peach for blue/purple/gray, lilac for yellow, beige for skin-matching finish
5. Take a small amount with the Camouflage Brush and gently tap the color onto the discoloration—never swipe, only dab
6. Optionally combine multiple colors for complex camouflage: for example, peach for the blue base, followed by beige for the matching finish
7. Finish with your foundation or powder over the entire area for extra coverage and fixation
8. End your morning routine with broad-spectrum sun protection—neither product contains SPF

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the HydroPure Color Correcting Serum and Corrective Colors together?

Yes, these products complement each other well. Use the HydroPure Color Correcting Serum first as a daily base for overall light redness across the entire face. Then optionally apply Corrective Colors for targeted camouflage of specific spots such as a bruise, a stubborn red patch, or a tattoo. The serum acts as a hydrating base to which the more intense pigments of Corrective Colors adhere well.

Why is the HydroPure Color Correcting Serum green?

On the color wheel, green lies directly opposite red, so a sheer green tint visually neutralizes redness. Unlike a yellow concealer (which specifically targets dark red spots), the green tint tones down a broader, general redness across the face. The tint is subtle enough to remain inconspicuous and works under foundation without leaving a green cast.

Can Corrective Colors fully camouflage a tattoo for a formal occasion?

For the most part, yes, but not always 100%. The degree of coverage depends on the depth of the tattoo colors and the contrast with the surrounding skin. The right approach: first a color-correcting layer (peach for blue/black, lilac for yellow-brown), then a beige layer for skin matching, and finally your foundation and powder. For very dark tattoos, a second application may be necessary. The Camouflage Brush is essential for precision application.

Does the HydroPure Color Correcting Serum work for rosacea?

Yes, the soothing ingredients (allantoin, hyaluronic acid, olive squalane, CoQ10) and the sheer green tint make this serum particularly suitable for rosacea-prone skin. For active rosacea flare-ups, Corrective Colors yellow can be used additionally for targeted camouflage of red spots.

Are these products vegan?

The HydroPure Color Correcting Serum is vegan and gluten-free. Corrective Colors is not vegan—the palette contains beeswax as a natural structuring agent, but is gluten-free. The Camouflage Brush is vegan thanks to the synthetic fibers.
