Intraceuticals

Professional oxygen-based skincare with Hyaluronic Layering from Australia

Intraceuticals is an Australian professional skincare brand founded in 2002 in Melbourne by Anthony McMahon. The brand became globally known for the Oxygen Facial — a non-invasive treatment where therapeutic oxygen under hyperbaric pressure is delivered into the skin along with specially formulated serums, with immediately visible results.

Today, Intraceuticals is present in more than 3,500 salons, clinics, and spas in over 50 countries, and has been valued for years by skin therapists, makeup artists on film sets, and international celebrities. The products in this range form the home routine that supports and continues the effects of the professional Oxygen Facial in the salon.

Why choose Intraceuticals?

What sets Intraceuticals apart is the patented 3 Step Hyaluronic Layering: three different molecular weights of hyaluronic acid applied in successive layers, each fulfilling a specific role in the skin. This layered approach combines immediate hydration with deep absorption of active ingredients — a formula philosophy scientifically supported in collaboration with Australian universities. All products are paraben-free and cruelty-free, and tailored to specific skin needs per line.

The story behind the brand

Intraceuticals was founded in 2002 by entrepreneur Anthony McMahon in Melbourne, Australia. McMahon came up with the idea when oxygen was deregulated in Australia and became more widely available for cosmetic use. In collaboration with leading Australian universities, his team developed a serum that can be delivered deep into the skin under hyperbaric oxygen pressure — the foundation of what later became globally known as the Intraceuticals Oxygen Facial.

In the years that followed, the brand grew from a small home-based business to an international professional skincare brand represented in over 50 countries. The treatment was used on the set of the Netflix series The Crown to make actors look younger without prosthetics, and is a regular choice of makeup artists on film productions such as Thor Ragnarok and Ocean's 8.

The formula philosophy

The basis of every Intraceuticals routine is the 3 Step Hyaluronic Layering: an approach where three products are applied in a fixed order — serum, hydration gel, and cream — each with a different molecular weight of hyaluronic acid. The small molecules saturate and revitalize the skin, the medium-sized molecules supplement with hydrating gels, and the larger molecules form a protective layer on the surface against moisture loss.

On top of that, each product line chooses its own focus with additional actives: vitamin A and peptides for anti-aging, botanical brighteners like Rumex and Citrus Unshiu for pigmentation, salicylic acid and tea tree for problem skin. The formulas are developed in Australia, are paraben-free and cruelty-free, and are professionally applied in salons and clinics worldwide.

The product lines

The range is built around skin needs: each concern has its own routine that fits seamlessly within the Hyaluronic Layering philosophy.

Rejuvenate: The main anti-aging line for lifting and hydrating results, focusing on fine lines, moisture loss, and overall skin vitality. Suitable for almost all skin types and the brand’s most requested line.

Opulence: The brightening line for pigmentation spots, age spots, and uneven skin tone, with botanical brighteners like Rumex Occidentalis and stable vitamin C combined with hyaluronic acid.

Atoxelene: Targeted peptide care for expression lines, with Daily Serum and Line Wand for precise application.

Clarity: Skincare for blemish-prone and sensitive problem skin, with salicylic acid, tea tree oil, and copper ferment. Specially tailored for skin that combines both impurities and sensitivity.

Boosters: Concentrated ampoule-like formulas with powerful actives such as retinol, antioxidants, and peptides, which you can add to your regular routine for extra results on specific skin needs.

Retouch: The targeted care collection for delicate areas such as the eye contour, lips, and neck — areas where the skin is thinner and requires additional support.

Frequently asked questions

Who is Intraceuticals suitable for?

Intraceuticals has product lines for almost every skin need: from anti-aging and hydration (Rejuvenate) to pigmentation spots (Opulence), problem skin (Clarity), and targeted boosters for specific areas and goals. The Hyaluronic Layering base is suitable for all skin types from around 25 years old.

What is the scientific basis of the brand?

Intraceuticals was developed in collaboration with leading Australian universities and has patented the 3 Step Hyaluronic Layering technology. The combination of three molecular weights of hyaluronic acid and targeted actives under hyperbaric oxygen pressure is the basis of the salon treatments, and this formula philosophy continues in all home products.

How long before I see results?

With the Hyaluronic Layering home routine, a hydrating effect is immediately noticeable, especially a plumper and smoother skin surface. For visible results on fine lines, pigmentation spots, or blemishes, expect 6 to 8 weeks of consistent use. Deeper skin concerns such as melasma or stubborn hyperpigmentation require 3 to 6 months.

Does Intraceuticals test on animals?

No, Intraceuticals is a cruelty-free brand. The products are also formulated without parabens.

How long are Intraceuticals products shelf-stable?

Unopened, most products are good until the expiration date indicated on the packaging. After opening, the PAO symbol (Period After Opening) indicates the recommended usage period, usually 6 to 12 months depending on the product. Store the products in a cool, dark place for optimal preservation of the active ingredients.

Can I combine multiple Intraceuticals lines in one routine?

Yes, the lines are specifically designed to work together within the Hyaluronic Layering structure. A common combination is Rejuvenate as the base routine with the Opulence Brightening Wand for local pigmentation spots, or Clarity for active blemishes combined with the Opulence routine for the pigmentation they leave behind. Do not combine strongly exfoliating or active products in the same step to avoid irritation.
