Sensilis Skincare

Sensitive Skin Lab from Barcelona since 1979

Sensilis is a Spanish dermocosmetic brand that has specialized in caring for sensitive and sensitized skin for over four decades. The brand was founded in 1979 in a pharmaceutical laboratory in Barcelona and takes its name from the Latin "Sensibilis," which literally means "sensitive" — a guiding principle that has characterized every formula since. Today, the brand rightly carries the positioning Sensilis Sensitive Skin Lab: all Sensilis skincare is developed with sensitive skin as the starting point and is recommended in more than 25 countries by pharmacists, dermatologists, and cosmetic doctors.

For the skin, this means one concrete promise: high-quality cosmetics that are both effective and skin-friendly, even for those who react quickly to active ingredients. Sensilis products combine pharmaceutical precision with a pronounced sensory experience — textures, fragrances, and packaging that make your senses sing, without compromising tolerability. The range offers complete solutions for cleansing, hydration, anti-aging, and sun protection, all tailored to sensitive skin and fully coordinated.

Why choose Sensilis?

Sensilis skincare stands out on three fronts: a pharmaceutical origin, a consistent focus on sensitive and sensitized skin, and a documented scientific approach. Every formula is developed under the motto "NO TEST, NO CLAIM" — what the brand promises is clinically tested. Sensilis Sensitive Skin Lab combines avant-garde biotech peptides, retinoid encapsulations, and mild yet effective actives with a refined sensory experience that not only cares for the skin but also brings comfort and well-being.

The story behind the brand

Sensilis was founded in 1979 in a pharmaceutical laboratory in Barcelona, Spain, as part of the parent company Dermofarm — a renowned name within the Spanish dermocosmetic industry. From day one, one mission was central: to develop high-quality cosmetics for those who cannot simply expose their skin to generic formulas. This principle is embedded in the brand name itself: "Sensibilis" — Latin for "sensitive."

Now more than four decades later, Sensilis still operates from Spain, where every formula is conceived, formulated, and produced in-house. The production facilities are ISO-certified and the production site is ECOCERT/COSMOS-certified for natural and organic cosmetics. Breakthrough technologies such as Peptide [AR] (high-definition biotech peptides with an immediate lifting effect) and Peptide [Reti-V] (retinol encapsulation in 20,000 micropearls per package for controlled release) place the brand at the forefront of modern dermocosmetic science. Sensilis is internationally recognized at congresses such as the European Congress of Dermatology and is a trusted brand within aesthetic dermatology.

The formula philosophy

Behind every Sensilis skincare formula lie four consistently applied principles. Scientific honesty: the "NO TEST, NO CLAIM" motto means every promised effect is clinically proven, leaving no room for marketing without evidence. Sensoriality: textures, scents, and packaging are deliberately designed to add a sensory experience to the effect — a light mist, a velvety cream, a refreshing sorbet gel. Allergen-free where possible and formulated with exclusive technologies that respect sensitive skin. And sustainability: 100% sustainable packaging, renewable energy in production, intelligent lighting systems that save 24 tons of CO2 annually, and sunscreens with Ocean Respect formulation to protect the environment.

Sensilis is classified as dermocosmetics for sensitive skin: developed in a pharmaceutical laboratory, ECOCERT/COSMOS-certified where applicable, and recommended worldwide by pharmacists, dermatologists, and cosmetic doctors.

Frequently asked questions

Who is Sensilis suitable for?

Sensilis is specifically developed for sensitive and sensitized skin, but thanks to its mild formulation, it is also excellent for normal, dry, and mature skin. The brand offers both soothing basic care (Cool Rescue, Skin Rescue Barrier, Calm in Balm) and targeted anti-aging routines with biotech peptides, retinol encapsulation, and glycolic acid for the advanced user.

What does Sensilis Sensitive Skin Lab and "NO TEST, NO CLAIM" mean?

"Sensitive Skin Lab" is the scientific positioning of Sensilis: all formulas are developed with sensitive skin as the starting point, in a pharmaceutical laboratory in Barcelona. The "NO TEST, NO CLAIM" motto means that every effect the brand promises is clinically tested and documented. No marketing claims without evidence. This is especially important for sensitive skin, as both tolerance and effectiveness must be proven before a formula is brought to market.

How long does it take to see results?

The first visible results — calmer, better hydrated, and more comfortable skin — are often noticeable within 1 to 2 weeks. With Calm in Balm, the brand even measures +14.6% hydration after 20 minutes. For structural results in areas like pigmentation, fine lines, and skin firmness, a treatment of 8 to 12 weeks is realistic, as the skin needs one full cell cycle to renew. Clinical studies show, for example, +20% hydration and -17% transepidermal water loss after one month of using Cool Rescue.

Is Sensilis sustainable and certified?

Yes. The production site is ECOCERT/COSMOS certified for natural and organic cosmetics, all packaging is 100% sustainable, and the company runs on renewable energy. Sensilis sun filters are formulated with Ocean Respect — a biodegradability standard that minimizes impact on the oceans.

What is the difference between Peptide [AR] and Peptide [Reti-V]?

Both are patented Sensilis technologies within the anti-aging line. Peptide [AR] is a high-definition biotech peptide formula that delivers an immediate lifting effect and visibly firms the skin in the short term. Peptide [Reti-V] is a retinol encapsulation in 20,000 micropearls per package — for controlled nighttime release that addresses ten signs of aging. Combining them within one routine is possible, with the [AR] form during the day and the [Reti-V] pearls at night.

What is the shelf life of Sensilis products?

Unopened Sensilis products typically have a shelf life of 24 to 36 months. After opening, the brand recommends use within 6 to 12 months, depending on the product — the exact PAO indication (Period After Opening) can be found on the packaging.

Can I combine multiple Sensilis lines in one routine?

Absolutely, and that is even the intention. Sensilis skincare is designed as a complete system for sensitive skin: for example, the Calm in Balm as the first cleansing step, the Cool Rescue as toner, a targeted serum, the Hydra Essence Sorbet Gel or Eternalist Age Day Cream as day cream, and Sensilis Suncare as the finishing touch.
