Jane Iredale Enlighten Concealer

Concealers and brushes for dark circles under the eyes

Dark circles under the eyes are caused by a combination of thin skin, visible blood vessels, hyperpigmentation, and sometimes hereditary factors. On light skin, these discolorations often appear blue or purple, while on medium and tinted skin they tend to look brown-purple or grayish. A regular skin-tone concealer usually does not cover these discolorations sufficiently — the cool undertone still shows through, and the result looks tired or grayish.

The Jane Iredale Enlighten Concealer collection is specially designed for this stubborn discoloration. Both shades work based on color theory: a peach undertone optically neutralizes blue and purple tones. Together with the accompanying brushes for precise application, you have everything you need to naturally camouflage dark circles, hyperpigmentation, and bruises — without a heavy or cakey finish.

Why choose Enlighten Concealer?

The Enlighten Concealer stands out due to its color-correcting peach tint and nourishing formula with Amazonian Marapuama, Suma Root, White Lily, and nourishing plant oils. While a standard concealer only tries to cover, this formula neutralizes discoloration based on color theory. The result is a more natural and longer-lasting camouflage effect that makes the eye contour look fresher, even with prolonged use. The compact pot contains a concentrated formula, so a small amount lasts a long time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which Enlighten shade suits me?

Enlighten 1 suits light to light-medium skin tones and has a medium intense peach shade. Enlighten 2 is tailored for medium to tan skin and has a deeper peach-apricot shade. If you are unsure between the two shades, choose the one that is warmer than your natural skin tone — that is exactly what optically neutralizes the blue or purple discoloration.

Why is Enlighten Concealer peach and not skin tone?

Dark circles often have a blue or purple undertone. On the color wheel, orange is directly opposite blue, so a peach shade optically neutralizes these discolorations instead of just covering them. A pure skin-tone concealer over a blue circle lets the cool tint show through as grayish.

Which brush do I use for the under-eye area?

The Concealer Brush is specially developed for the under-eye area — the round, angled head follows the cup shape of the eyelid for even application. For finer areas such as the inner eye corner or tear duct, the Crease Brush works more precisely.

Is Jane Iredale Enlighten Concealer vegan?

No, both Enlighten Concealers are not vegan. The formula contains beeswax (Cera Alba) as a natural structuring agent. The products are gluten-free. The accompanying brushes (Concealer Brush, Camouflage Brush, and Crease Brush) are fully vegan and cruelty-free thanks to their synthetic fibers.
