Description
Gel cleanser with 2% salicylic acid for face and body
Impurities rarely limit themselves to the face alone. Clogged pores, bumps on the upper arms (keratosis pilaris), and post-workout pimples on the back, chest, or shoulders have the same origin: a combination of excess sebum, dead skin cells, and bacteria accumulating in the pore. A regular cleanser or shower gel often does not reach into the pore itself — a fat-soluble exfoliant is needed for that.
The Alpha-H Clear Skin Face and Body Wash is a non-foaming gel cleanser with 2% salicylic acid and niacinamide, developed for both face and body. Salicylic acid penetrates oil-soluble impurities deep into the pore, while niacinamide helps regulate sebum production and fade post-blemish marks. The formula is hydrating enough for daily use but powerful enough to demonstrably control breakouts.
Benefits
- Cleans deep into the pore thanks to 2% salicylic acid (BHA)
- Suitable for face and body against back acne, shoulder bumps, and keratosis pilaris
- Regulates excess sebum and soothes post-blemish marks with niacinamide
- Non-drying thanks to glycerin and aloe vera, despite the active ingredients
- Ideal post-workout cleanse against sweat, sebum, and bacteria
Active ingredients
2% Salicylic Acid (BHA): A fat-soluble beta hydroxy acid that can penetrate deep into the pore, unlike water-soluble AHAs that only work on the skin surface. Salicylic acid dissolves the 'cement' between dead skin cells, clears clogged pores, and inhibits the inflammatory response that contributes to recurring breakouts.
Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): A versatile active ingredient that helps regulate sebum production, fade post-inflammatory pigmentation spots (the brown marks left by breakouts), and strengthen the skin barrier. A valuable addition to salicylic acid in an active formula.
Aloe vera and glycerin: A combination of a soothing plant-based ingredient and a strong humectant. Aloe vera reduces visible redness that can occur with active skin, while glycerin attracts moisture to leave the skin soft and comfortable. Crucial in a formula with BHA to keep the skin barrier intact.
Natural tea tree and eucalyptus: Not as the main active ingredient, but as a natural fragrance with mild antibacterial properties. Gives the cleanser its refreshing, herbal scent without synthetic perfume additives.

Frequently asked questions
Can I use this product every day despite the 2% salicylic acid?
Yes. Although salicylic acid is an active ingredient, the 2% concentration in a rinse-off product is balanced for daily use. The short contact time with the skin and the presence of glycerin and aloe vera make twice-daily use possible. For sensitive skin, it is advisable to start with once a day.
Does this cleanser also help with back acne (bacne)?
Yes, this is one of the reasons why Alpha-H deliberately chose a combined face & body formula. The salicylic acid can also penetrate pores on the body, making it effective against breakouts on the back, chest, and shoulders. Leave the cleanser on the skin for half a minute for optimal effect.
Is this cleanser also suitable for keratosis pilaris?
Yes. The small, rough bumps on the upper arms or thighs are caused by keratin buildup around the hair follicles. The salicylic acid in this cleanser helps gently break down this buildup, making the skin feel smoother with regular use.
Why is this product not suitable during pregnancy?
Salicylic acid belongs to the same group as acetylsalicylic acid (aspirin) and is advised against during pregnancy and breastfeeding as a precaution, even in cosmetic concentrations. During this period, milder alternatives like the Alpha-H Balancing Cleanser can be used.
