Duo against pigmentation spots with mandelic acid and hexylresorcinol
Pigmentation lies deeper than many skincare products can reach. Those who want visible results for stubborn pigmentation spots, melasma, or post-acne marks need a two-pronged approach: targeted exfoliation that renews the upper pigment-containing skin layers and a daily serum that slows new pigment formation and fades existing spots.
The PowerBright Dark Spot System combines both steps in two full-size products: the Dark Spot Peel with 12% AHA and PHA blend for the evening routine, and the Dark Spot Serum with niacinamide, hexylresorcinol, and shiitake extract for every morning. Clinically tested on a wide range of skin tones, including melanin-rich skin and hyperpigmentation-prone skin. Visible results within one to two weeks.
Advantages
- Works on two levels: targeted exfoliation in the evening and brightening in the morning
- Fades visible pigmentation spots including UV spots, melasma, and post-acne marks
- Prevents new pigmentation triggers and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation
- Two full-size products for at least 2 months of intensive treatment
- Safe and clinically tested on Fitzpatrick skin types I through IV
Active ingredients
Mandelic acid, glycolic acid, gluconolactone, and phytic acid (AHA + PHA 12%): The AHA and PHA complex in the Peel exfoliates the skin thoroughly but evenly. Mandelic acid has a larger molecular structure than classic glycolic acid, making it gentler on the skin and especially suitable for pigmentation issues. PHAs simultaneously bind moisture, so the skin does not dry out during the peeling process.
Tranexamic acid: A targeted brightening active in the Peel that interrupts communication between melanocytes and the upper skin cells. This slows the production of new pigment, especially in melasma and hormonal pigmentation spots that are difficult to treat with other methods.
Hexylresorcinol: The brightening ingredient in the Dark Spot Serum that inhibits excessive melanin production and visibly fades existing pigmentation spots. Hexylresorcinol is regarded by skin experts as a well-tolerated alternative to hydroquinone, without irritating the skin with daily use.
Niacinamide (vitamin B3): Present in both the Peel and the Serum. Reduces the transfer of melanin pigment to the upper skin cells, strengthens the skin barrier, and soothes mild redness. Essential for stabilizing skin tone during intensive pigmentation treatment.
Shiitake extract and ashwagandha root: Two bioactive plant extracts in the Serum. Shiitake contains beta-glucans and natural koji acids that gently exfoliate the skin and enhance its natural radiance. Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that makes the skin more resilient to oxidative stress and pollution.
Turmeric butter extract and omega-3 algae complex: In the Peel, turmeric and algae extracts (Isochrysis Galbana, Nannochloropsis Gaditana) form a barrier-repairing duo. They soothe the skin immediately after exfoliation and reduce inflammation triggers that can lead to post-inflammatory pigmentation.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the PowerBright Dark Spot System and the Dark Spot Solutions Kit?
The Dark Spot System contains two full-size products — the Peel and the Serum — for an intensive, targeted approach to existing pigmentation spots. The Dark Spot Solutions Kit includes three travel-size products, including an SPF50 moisturizer and an Overnight Cream. If you already have a daily SPF and night cream you don’t want to replace, then this System is the right choice.
Can I use this System during the summer months or in the sun?
Yes, provided you use a high SPF50 daily and limit direct sun exposure with a hat or shade. Pigmentation spots are mainly caused by UV radiation, so sun protection is an essential part of the routine — even during vacations or beach days.
Can I combine retinol or vitamin C with this System?
Vitamin C can be used in the morning routine before the Dark Spot Serum, while retinol is reserved for evenings when you are not using the Peel. Preferably, introduce retinol only after you have used the Peel for 4 to 5 consecutive days and have reduced to 2 to 3 times per week to avoid skin irritation.
