Description
Exfoliating facial pads with AHA and BHA for impure skin
A gradually slowed cell renewal causes dead skin cells, sebum, and pigmentation spots to accumulate on the surface. The result: dull skin, recurring blackheads, and residual pigmentation from old pimples that just won’t fade. Weekly intensive exfoliation is the step that breaks this cycle.
The DermaQuest Universal Clarifying Pads combine multiple acids in one step: 10% lactic acid, 2% salicylic acid, mandelic acid, and skin-brightening phytic and kojic acids. Using one pad twice a week in the evening on cleansed skin is enough to professionally refresh the skin — without needing a separate exfoliating cleanser or toner.
Benefits
- Combines AHA and BHA for both surface and pore-deep exfoliation
- Reduces blackheads, pimples, and visible skin impurities
- Fades post-inflammatory pigmentation spots and evens out skin tone
- Softens fine lines and stimulates natural cell renewal
- Practical and hygienic to use thanks to pre-soaked pads
Active ingredients
Lactic Acid (10%): An alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that loosens dead skin cells and stimulates cell renewal. At this concentration, lactic acid works clearly as an exfoliant while simultaneously binding moisture to the skin — an important property that stronger acids lack. It fades pigmentation spots and softens fine lines.
Salicylic Acid (2%): A beta hydroxy acid (BHA) that is fat-soluble and therefore penetrates deep into the pore. It loosens hardened sebum and skin cells, reduces inflammation, and targets the cause of blackheads. Works synergistically with the AHAs in this formula.
Mandelic Acid: An AHA with a larger molecule than glycolic or lactic acid, making it less penetrating and gentler on the skin. It regulates sebum production and refines skin texture — a valuable addition for those with acne and sensitive skin.
Kojic Acid & Phytic Acid: Both ingredients inhibit melanin production and help fade pigmentation spots. Phytic acid also acts as an antioxidant against free radicals and UV damage. Together, they give the pads their brightening effect, visible with long-term use.
Aloe vera & glycerin: Keep the skin balanced during exfoliation and prevent the active acids from leaving a tight or dry feeling.
How to use
- Use the pads only in the evening and no more than twice a week
- First thoroughly cleanse the face with your daily cleanser and pat dry
- Take one pad out of the jar and close the lid immediately
- Gently wipe the pad over the face, neck, and décolleté, avoiding the eye area — do not rinse off
- Allow to fully absorb and always use sun protection the next morning, as the acids make the skin more sensitive to sunlight
Suitable for
- Oily and combination skin with impurities and blackheads
- Acne-prone skin with post-inflammatory pigmentation spots
- Mature skin with hormonal acne and early signs of aging
- Skin with uneven tone or uneven pigmentation
- Skin ready for professional exfoliation but wanting an easy routine
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference with the BHA Cleanser or Glyco Gel Cleanser?
Cleansers are rinsed off, but the pads are left to absorb — this allows them to work longer on the skin. The Universal Clarifying Pads also combine multiple acids with skin-brightening ingredients like kojic acid and phytic acid, which adds extra benefit for pigmentation spots after pimples.
Can the pads be used daily?
No. Twice a week in the evening is sufficient and also necessary to prevent irritation. The combination of AHAs, BHAs, and alcohol is intensive — using it more often can weaken the skin barrier.
Does the product contain alcohol and is that a problem?
Yes, the pads contain SD Alcohol 40-B as a solvent. For very dry or sensitive skin, this can cause irritation — start with once a week and observe how your skin reacts. Always follow up with a hydrating moisturizer to support the skin barrier.
Can I combine the pads with retinol or other acids?
Not on the same evening. Alternate active evenings with recovery evenings where you use hydrating products. For example: pads on Monday, retinol on Wednesday, pads on Friday — with soothing care in between.
