Schrammek Brightening Active C Serum 30ml
Description
Description
Vitamin C serum for hyperpigmentation and dull complexion
Uneven skin tone rarely appears overnight. It is the result of years of UV exposure, hormonal fluctuations, or inflammation that disrupt melanin production. A serum forms the active link in this skin approach: due to its concentrated formula and light texture, the active ingredients penetrate deeper into the skin than a day cream can.
The Brightening Active C Serum from Dr Schrammek combines a double form of vitamin C with azelaic acid and niacinamide. This melanobreaker formula targets pigment formation on multiple levels simultaneously. In an independent 56-day dermatological study, 89% of participants saw a visible brightening effect and 96% a more even complexion — measurable results that underline the serum's clinical efficacy.
Benefits
- Fades existing pigmentation spots and inhibits the production of new melanin
- Gives the skin an immediate more radiant and fresh appearance
- Acts as an antioxidant and protects the skin against free radicals
- Stimulates collagen production for a smoother skin texture
- Hydrates and soothes thanks to glycine and niacinamide
Active ingredients
Azeloglycina®: A refined derivative of azelaic acid that blocks tyrosinase activity — the enzyme responsible for melanin production. Besides its brightening effect, it regulates sebum production and contains glycine, which hydrates the skin and smooths the surface. An excellent choice for skin with both pigmentation spots and impurities.
Double vitamin C (Ascorbyl Glucoside and Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate): Two stable forms of vitamin C that perfectly complement each other. Ascorbyl phosphate penetrates the skin quickly for an immediate brightening effect, while ascorbyl glucoside is absorbed gradually for a long-lasting supply of vitamin C. Together, they inhibit tyrosinase, stimulate collagen production, and protect against oxidative damage.
Vitamin E (Tocopheryl Acetate): The main fat-soluble antioxidant in the skin. Vitamin E protects cell membranes against lipid peroxidation caused by UV radiation and free radicals. Combined with vitamin C, they enhance each other's effects, resulting in significantly higher antioxidant protection than using either one alone.
Niacinamide: A form of vitamin B3 that blocks the transfer of melanin from pigment cells to the upper skin layers. It has anti-inflammatory effects, reduces the visibility of existing spots, and strengthens the skin barrier by limiting transepidermal water loss.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between this serum and the Brightening Day Fluid?
The serum contains a higher concentration of active ingredients and is applied directly to cleansed skin for deep penetration. The Brightening Day Fluid adds SPF50 and the melanobreaker formula as a protective layer. For optimal results, use both products combined — as shown in the official 56-day study.
Can I use this serum in combination with retinol?
Yes, but use them in separate routines. Apply the Active C Serum in the morning and retinol in the evening. This buildup prevents overstimulation and enhances the brightening effect, as retinol stimulates cell renewal and vitamin C protects against free radicals during the day.
When will I see the first results?
An immediate brightening of the complexion is often visible after just a few days thanks to the optical effect. For lasting pigment reduction, expect eight weeks of consistent use. The clinical study showed measurable results at the melanin level after 56 days.
Is this serum suitable for sensitive skin?
The serum contains well-tolerated forms of vitamin C that are gentler than pure ascorbic acid. For very reactive skin, we recommend starting with once daily and gradually increasing use.
