Youngblood YB4 Foundation Luxe Brush
Description
Description
Precision foundation brush for primer, moisturizer, and foundation
Not every skin type calls for the same application technique. A dense buffing brush works wonderfully on combination or oily skin, but can emphasize fine lines and irritate mature or drier skin. For these skin types, a lighter, sweeping application is more comfortable — and that is precisely what a precision foundation brush is designed for.
The Youngblood YB4 Foundation Brush combines dense, ultra-soft Taklon fibers in a slightly flattened precision shape. This allows you to distribute product over the skin with smooth, sweeping motions instead of pressing it in. The result is a seamless, airbrushed finish that respects the skin while also being highly versatile: from day cream to primer to liquid or cream foundation.
Suitable for
This brush is deliberately designed to be multifunctional for multiple steps in your base routine:
- Liquid foundation, from light to medium coverage
- Cream foundation and foundation sticks for an even finish
- Primer, for even application without fingerprints
- Day cream and facial serum, for faster absorption and less waste
- Liquid or cream concealer over larger areas such as the under-eye area
Features
Artist-quality Taklon synthetic fibers: The hairs are high-quality and artist-grade, so the Youngblood YB4 Foundation Brush remains soft and retains its shape even after months of daily use. 100% vegan, cruelty-free, and gentle on sensitive skin.
Precision shape with a slightly flattened head: Unlike the dense buffer of the YB3, the YB4 has a slightly flattened precision shape that allows you to work with sweeping motions. This is particularly useful around the nostrils, inner and outer corners of the eyes, and jawline — precisely the areas that are difficult to reach with a large, round brush.
Ideal for mature and drier skin: The sweeping technique does not tug at the skin, making this brush especially popular with mature skin. Foundation settles less into fine lines, and the finish remains skin-like rather than cakey.
Non-shedding construction: The hairs of the Youngblood YB4 Foundation Brush are securely set into the ferrule, so you won’t have to deal with shedding during application, even after regular washing.
How to use it
- Apply a small amount of primer, moisturizer, or foundation directly to the skin or to the brush head
- Start in the center of the face—forehead, bridge of the nose, cheeks, and chin—and work outward
- Distribute the product with smooth, sweeping motions instead of buffing in circular motions
- Work carefully around the sides of the nose, inner corners of the eyes, and jawline using the narrower side of the head
- Blend along the hairline and jawline with very light sweeping motions for a seamless transition
Brush care
Wash the Youngblood Foundation Brush after every use or at least twice a week; liquid products and creams build up in the bristles faster than powders. Use a mild soap or dedicated brush cleaner and lukewarm water, rinse until the water runs clear, and gently press out the excess water with a towel. Lay the brush flat to dry—never upright—to prevent water from running into the ferrule and loosening the construction.

- Anyone who prefers working with sweeping motions instead of circular buffing
- Vegans and users who prefer cruelty-free tools over natural hair
- Anyone who wants one brush for multiple steps: skincare, primer, and foundation
- Both everyday home users and makeup professionals
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Youngblood YB4 Foundation Brush and the YB3 Liquid Buffing Brush?
The YB3 is a dense, round buffing brush that buffs in pigment with small circular motions—ideal for medium-high to full coverage. The YB4 has a precision shape with a slightly flattened head and works with sweeping, spreading motions. For mature or drier skin and lighter coverage, the YB4 is often more comfortable; for fuller coverage and combination skin, the YB3 works better.
Can I also apply my day cream with the Youngblood Foundation Brush?
Yes, and that is even one of its best additional uses. Applying day cream or serum with the brush gives you a more even distribution than using your fingers, allows the skin to absorb the product faster, and prevents any product from being wasted on your fingertips. However, it is recommended that you turn the brush over immediately afterward for the next product, or keep it separate for skincare.
Does the Youngblood Foundation Brush also work well for light coverage or tinted moisturizer?
Certainly. The sweeping technique is particularly suitable for lightweight textures such as tinted moisturizer, BB cream, and light-coverage foundation. Because the brush does not buff in the product but instead distributes it, it preserves the skin’s natural appearance as much as possible—exactly what you want with light coverage.
