Talc-free pressed setting powder in 4 shades for a soft matte finish

A setting powder largely determines how long your makeup keeps looking good. It locks foundation and concealer in place, absorbs shine and makes the skin look smoother. A pressed powder in a compact is extra handy: you take it along in your bag and touch up shine the moment it is needed, without loose powder.

The Youngblood Pressed Mineral Rice Setting Powder is available at Glam Skin in 4 shades: Light, Medium, Tan and Pink. The formula based on rice and corn starch is talc-free, gives light coverage and a natural, soft matte finish. According to Youngblood, the powder is meant for normal, combination and oily skin and keeps your makeup fresh and comfortable all day.

Why choose the Youngblood Pressed Mineral Rice Setting Powder?

The powder keeps shine under control and makes the skin's texture look smoother, so the skin looks soft and balanced. The light coverage finishes your makeup without feeling heavy, and thanks to the compact 8 g size you can use it at home and on the go.

  • Talc-free formula with a natural, soft matte finish
  • Rice starch helps blur the look of pores and texture and supports longer wear of your makeup
  • Corn starch absorbs excess skin oil
  • Ethically sourced mica for a silky texture
  • Caring ingredients such as jojoba seed oil, green tea extract and honeysuckle extract
  • 8 g compact, handy to take with you

Find your ideal shade

The four shades differ mainly in the colour of the powder: three neutral-coloured powders that you choose based on your skin and foundation, and a pink shade that you choose for its colour-correcting effect.

Neutral shades:

  • Light — creamy white powder with a soft, light look; the lightest shade
  • Medium — warm beige powder, the in-between shade between Light and Tan
  • Tan — golden beige powder, the deepest shade

Pink shade with colour correction:

  • Pink — soft pink powder that, according to Youngblood, neutralises dullness and a sallow complexion and brightens the eye area

Can't decide between two shades? Hold your foundation next to the photos: the powder should be close in colour to your foundation, so your makeup looks the same after setting. Feel free to send us a WhatsApp message with a photo in daylight and we'll help you decide.

How do you use a pressed setting powder?

The powder is the last step, over your foundation and concealer. This is how you apply it:

  1. Let your foundation and concealer set for a moment first
  2. Pick up a little powder with the YB2 Powder Luxe Brush or the YB1 Kabuki Luxe Brush and tap away any excess
  3. Gently press and sweep the powder over the areas that get shiny quickly, especially the T-zone
  4. Use soft, circular motions to smooth the skin and set your makeup
  5. Touch up on the go wherever the skin starts to shine again; start with a little powder and build up if needed

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose between Light, Medium and Tan?

Choose the shade that best matches your skin and foundation: Light is creamy white, Medium warm beige and Tan golden beige. A powder that is too light can leave a white cast on deeper skin, while a powder that is too dark makes your makeup look heavier. Can't work it out? Send us a WhatsApp message with a photo in daylight and we'll help you decide.

What do I use the shade Pink for?

Use Pink under the eyes to set concealer, on shadowed areas of the face or as a powder over the whole face. According to Youngblood, the pink undertone counteracts blue and green tones in the skin, so the eye area looks lighter and a sallow complexion is less noticeable. You can also combine Pink with one of the neutral shades.

Which skin type is this setting powder meant for?

According to Youngblood, the powder is meant for normal, combination and oily skin. It absorbs excess skin oil and gives light coverage and a matte finish. If your skin is on the drier side, use only a little powder and focus mainly on the areas that get shiny.

Which brush do I use for a pressed powder?

Youngblood recommends the YB2 Powder Luxe Brush or the YB1 Kabuki Luxe Brush. Pick up only a little powder and tap away the excess before pressing it onto the skin. This way you build up the layer gradually and your makeup keeps looking natural.

Pressed or loose: what is the difference?

The pressed version is a pressed powder in an 8 g compact, with jojoba oil, green tea and honeysuckle extract, and is meant for normal, combination and oily skin. The Loose Mineral Rice Setting Powder is a loose powder in a 10 g jar, with parsley, cucumber and marshmallow root extract, and according to Youngblood suitable for all skin types. If you mainly touch up on the go, the compact is the most practical choice.
