Ayuna The Facial High 200ml
Description
Description
Prebiotic refining concentrate with 30% active acids
Oily skin with clogged pores, recurring impurities, and uneven texture requires a serious approach. Classic chemical peels with single acids often work only on the surface but disrupt the skin's bacterial flora, causing the problem to return after a few weeks. The newer generation of skincare combines powerful exfoliation with prebiotics that balance the microbiome.
Ayuna The Facial High is a powder-in-lotion concentrate with 30% active acids — a stronger variant than The Facial Low — with a pH of 3.5 to 3.7. The combination of glutamic acid, succinic acid, and acetic acid from raspberry vinegar penetrates deeply to purify the skin, while plasma-rich Noni cell factors and lactobacillus ferment nourish the microbiome. The result: visibly brighter, mattified, and smoother skin for those who can tolerate active acids.
Benefits
- Refines skin texture and visibly shrinks enlarged pores
- Regulates sebum production and mattifies the skin for a balanced complexion
- Reduces impurities and prevents the development of comedones
- Fades pigmentation spots and evens out skin tone
- Nourishes the skin microbiome prebiotically despite intensive exfoliation
Active ingredients
Glutamic acid: An alpha-amino acid from fermented sugarcane and yucca. In the higher concentration of The Facial High, it exfoliates more gently than classic AHAs while providing deep hydration. Glutamic acid compensates for the potential drying effect of the other active acids in the formula.
Succinic acid: An anti-inflammatory acid that regulates sebum production and targets P. acnes, the bacteria that causes comedones. Succinic acid also has a copper-chelating effect, which inhibits the tyrosinase enzyme and fades pigmentation spots.
Acetic acid from raspberry vinegar (Rubus Idaeus): A low-molecular acid that acts as the main exfoliant and restores the skin's pH balance. Raspberry vinegar offers antimicrobial and antioxidant properties in addition to exfoliation, contributing to a brighter complexion.
Noni cell factors (Morinda Citrifolia Callus Culture): Plasma-rich prebiotics from stem cells of the Noni plant. Unlike classic antimicrobial ingredients, Noni does not kill harmful bacteria but blocks the communication signals between harmful microorganisms — called quorum sensing — keeping the microbiome balanced during exfoliation.
Lactobacillus ferment and cocoa extract: A postbiotic combination that nourishes and restores the skin barrier after intensive exfoliation. Essential for maintaining the natural skin balance despite the high acid concentration.
Beta-sitosterol: A plant-based fatty acid structurally related to cholesterol, a natural building block of the skin barrier. It soothes possible irritation and strengthens the barrier function, which is especially valuable in The Facial High given its stronger effect.
How to use it

- Apply to cleansed skin, before other skincare products—ideally in the evening
- Distribute a coin-sized amount on hands or a cotton pad
- Press gently on the face, neck, and décolleté, working from the center outward
- A slight tingling is normal due to the high acid concentration; avoid contact with the eyes
- Start with 1 evening per week and gradually build up to a maximum of 3 to 4 evenings per week; always finish with a serum and day cream

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between The Facial High and The Facial Low?
The Facial High contains 30% active acids and has a lower pH (3.5 to 3.7), making it stronger and suitable for more robust skin types, oily skin, and acne-prone skin. The Facial Low contains 20% active acids and is milder, specifically for sensitive, dry, or rosacea-prone skin. When in doubt or for a first introduction to this product line, The Facial Low is always recommended.
Can I start with The Facial High without having used acids before?
Preferably not. The Facial High is formulated for skin that is already accustomed and tolerant to chemical exfoliation. For a first introduction to colloidal acids, The Facial Low is the more logical step. If you already have experience with strong peels or acne treatments, The Facial High can be used directly—starting with one evening per week.
Can I combine The Facial High with retinol?
Do not combine on the same evening. Rotate both products: for example, use The Facial High on Monday and Thursday evenings, and retinol on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. This prevents overstimulation and keeps the skin barrier intact.
Is sun protection mandatory when using The Facial High?
Absolutely. The high acid concentration clearly makes the skin more sensitive to light. Daily sun protection with at least SPF 30 is necessary, preferably Ayuna Velo, Velo X, or Velo C. Do not skip sun protection, even on cloudy days or with limited outdoor activity.
