Description
Prebiotic toner concentrate for sensitive skin
Skin with fine pores, slight imperfections, or uneven shine requires daily care that works on the microbiome, not just the surface. Many classic toners with strong acids achieve short-term results but disrupt the balance of skin bacteria — which in the long term causes more reactions, dryness, and sensitivity. The modern approach focuses on gentle exfoliation combined with prebiotics.
Ayuna The Facial Low is a powder-in-lotion concentrate: a powder base that dissolves in liquid upon use, with an innovative combination of glutamic acid, succinic acid, and raspberry vinegar. Supplemented with plasma-rich Noni cell factors and lactobacillus ferment, the formula works prebiotically on the skin microbiome. The result is refined skin with balanced sebum production, smaller pores, and a more even complexion — suitable for sensitive and even rosacea-prone skin types.
Benefits
- Refines skin texture and makes pores visibly smaller
- Balances sebum production and soothes shine
- Strengthens the skin microbiome with prebiotics and postbiotics
- Evens skin tone with mild gentle exfoliation without depleting the skin
- Suitable for sensitive and rosacea-prone skin types
Active ingredients
Glutamic acid: An alpha-amino acid derived from fermented sugarcane and yucca. Glutamic acid gently exfoliates by maintaining a pH close to that of the skin, and is also a powerful humectant that attracts and retains moisture for deep hydration. It combines exfoliation with intensive moisturization.
Succinic acid: A naturally occurring organic acid that reduces pore size while acting antimicrobial against P. acnes, the bacteria associated with blemishes. This helps achieve clearer, smoother skin without disturbing the entire microflora.
Raspberry vinegar (Rubus Idaeus Fruit Extract): Rich in acetic acid, a low-molecular-weight acid that provides gentle chemical exfoliation and supports the skin's natural pH balance. Additionally, raspberry vinegar contains antioxidants that protect the skin from oxidative damage.
Noni cell factors (Morinda Citrifolia Callus Culture): Plasma-rich prebiotics derived from the stem cells of the Noni plant. These bioactive compounds nourish the good bacteria of the skin microbiome, refine skin texture, fade imperfections, and reduce the visibility of enlarged pores.
Lactobacillus ferment and coconut extract: A postbiotic combination that nourishes and strengthens the restored microbiome. Lactobacillus ferment is especially suitable for sensitive skin and helps build the skin's natural defense, while coconut extract soothes the skin barrier.
Beta-sitosterol: A plant-based fatty acid structurally related to cholesterol, a natural building block of the skin barrier. Beta-sitosterol supplements the barrier, prevents dehydration, and soothes through its anti-inflammatory effect — an important ingredient for reactive and rosacea-prone skin.
How to use

- Work from the center of the face outward, starting at the face and ending on the décolleté
- A slight tingling may occur due to the active ingredients and is normal; follow with serum and day cream
- Do not combine on the same day with other exfoliating acids or physical scrubs; use 1 to 3 evenings per week, depending on tolerance

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between The Facial Low and The Facial High?
The Facial Low is the milder version, specifically formulated for sensitive, dry, or rosacea-prone skin. The Facial High is a stronger version with a lower pH (3.5 to 3.7) for more robust skin seeking more intensive refining. When in doubt or for first-time use of this product line, The Facial Low is recommended.
How often can I use The Facial Low?
For sensitive skin, it is recommended to start with once a week and gradually build up to a maximum of three evenings per week. For more accustomed skin, daily evening use is possible, but never combine with other exfoliating acids or mechanical scrubs on the same day to avoid overstimulation.
Can I combine The Facial Low with retinol or vitamin C?
Do not combine in the same evening routine. For example, use The Facial Low on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings, and retinol or vitamin C on the intervening evenings. This way, the skin benefits from both ingredients without overloading the barrier.
Is sun protection mandatory when using The Facial Low?
Yes. Due to the gentle exfoliating effect, the skin becomes temporarily more sensitive to UV light. Daily sun protection with at least SPF 30 is required, such as Ayuna Velo or Velo X.
