Description
Powerful day cream with cysteamine against melasma and pigment spots
Stubborn melasma and deep pigment spots require a day cream that not only hydrates but also actively inhibits melanin production. When a regular moisturizer delivers insufficient results and you want a cream that works intensively without hydroquinone, cysteamine offers the most advanced solution.
The DermaQuest MelaQuest Cream with Cysteamine combines three percent cysteamine complex with more than fifteen additional brightening ingredients in one hydrating formula. The cream reduces existing pigment spots, prevents new discolorations, and protects the skin barrier against oxidative stress, making the skin visibly more even and radiant.
Benefits
- Reduces stubborn pigment spots and melasma with three percent cysteamine
- Prevents the formation of new discolorations through multiple tyrosinase inhibitors
- Hydrates the skin and strengthens the skin barrier during pigment correction
- Protects skin cells against oxidative stress with ergothioneine
- Combines day cream and intensive pigment treatment in one step
Active ingredients
Cysteamine Complex (NV Cysteamine 15, three percent): A natural cell component and metabolite of L-cysteine that inhibits melanin production on multiple levels. Cysteamine acts both as an intracellular antioxidant and a tyrosinase inhibitor and has been clinically studied for the treatment of melasma. The stabilized complex form ensures gradual release and better skin tolerance in a moisturizer formula.
THD Ascorbate (BV-OSC, lipid-soluble vitamin C): A photo-stable form of vitamin C that penetrates deeply into the skin. Helps reverse visible signs of photoaging, inhibits melanin production, and stimulates collagen synthesis for firmer skin texture.
Kojic Acid Dipalmitate: A stabilized form of kojic acid derived from fermented rice. Inhibits tyrosinase activity and is particularly effective on old discolorations without stressing the skin barrier.
ChromaBright (Dimethylmethoxy Chromanyl Palmitate): A patented brightener that selectively inhibits the production of excess melanin. Clinically tested to brighten stubborn pigment spots.
Hexylresorcinol: A multi-action pigment corrector that both inhibits melanin production and fades existing pigment spots. Works synergistically with kojic acid and cysteamine.
Shiitake Mushroom Extract (Lentinus Edodes): A natural tyrosinase inhibitor that slows the formation of new pigment spots and provides the skin with valuable antioxidants.
Madonna Lily Plant Stem Cells (Lilium Candidum): Plant stem cells that support the natural renewal of skin cells and contribute to a visibly brighter complexion.
Ergothioneine: One of the most powerful intracellular antioxidants in modern skincare. Protects skin cells against oxidative stress and helps prevent premature aging, with anti-inflammatory properties ideal alongside cysteamine.
Bakuchiol: A plant-based alternative to retinol from the Babchi plant. Stimulates cell renewal and softens fine lines, with significantly less risk of irritation or photosensitivity.
Peptides (Palmitoyl Hexapeptide-36 & Nonapeptide-1): Signal peptides that support skin structure and improve elasticity. Enhance the rejuvenating effect of pigmentation correction.
Bearberry & Mulberry Extract (Arctostaphylos Uva-Ursi & Morus Alba): Plant sources of arbutin that gently inhibit melanin production, rich in antioxidants that protect and brighten the skin.
Licorice Root Extract (Glycyrrhiza Glabra): Contains glabridine, an ingredient that soothes tyrosinase activity and reduces inflammation that can enhance pigmentation.
Hyaluronic Acid (Sodium Hyaluronate): Binds moisture in the upper skin layers and provides a soft, plumped skin without making the moisturizer heavy.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between this cream and the version without cysteamine?
The cysteamine version contains three percent cysteamine complex on top of all the brightening ingredients of the standard MelaQuest Cream. Cysteamine is clinically proven to be more than one and a half times as effective as prescription hydroquinone and is recommended for stubborn melasma. For milder pigmentation or sensitive skin, the version without cysteamine is more suitable.
How do I combine this cream with the MelaQuest Cysteamine Serum?
For maximum results, use both products together. Apply the serum first to cleansed skin, let it fully absorb, and finish with the cream. The combination delivers a total of seven percent cysteamine, distributed over two penetration levels.
How long does it take to see results?
Initial improvements in radiance are often noticeable after two to four weeks. For visible reduction of pigmentation spots, usually six weeks of consistent use is needed, and optimal results are achieved after eight to sixteen weeks of consistent use combined with daily sun protection.
Does this cream have a specific scent?
Cysteamine naturally has a characteristic odor. In the cream base, this is largely masked by fragrance and other ingredients, but the scent may remain slightly noticeable upon application.
Can I use this product during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Cysteamine is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Always consult your doctor or midwife before using this product during this period.
