Mild cleansing foam for all skin types
A cleanser seems like the most standard product in a skincare routine, but in practice, it is the step where many people unknowingly cause damage. Classic cleansing foams often contain aggressive surfactants such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate — effective at removing oil but also breaking down the skin’s natural lipids and acid mantle. The tight feeling after washing is not a sign of clean skin; it is a signal of a weakened skin barrier.
The Soft Foam Cleanser from Dr Schrammek’s Essential line proves that cleansing can be fundamentally different. Through an innovative pump mechanism without propellant, the liquid transforms into a creamy, fluffy foam with mild plant-based surfactants — mainly derived from coconut — that thoroughly remove makeup, sebum deposits, and dirt without damaging the skin barrier. At the same time, Tego® Natural Betaine, inositol, and allantoin hydrate the skin during cleansing itself, preventing the tight feeling afterward. This makes the foam suitable for the whole family’s skin types — from sensitive dry skin that cannot tolerate dryness to combination skin that prefers a lighter cleanser than a creamy milk.

Active ingredients
Tego® Natural Betaine: A natural osmolyte derived from sugar beets that helps the skin actively retain moisture in the cells, even during cleansing. Classic foam cleansers disrupt the skin’s hydration balance; betaine does the opposite by providing hydration during washing. You feel the difference immediately after rinsing — no tightness, no dryness, but a supple skin feeling.
Inositol: A natural carbohydrate-like substance that helps the skin retain moisture and prevents dryness. Inositol plays a role in cell communication and supports the skin’s natural moisture balance. In a cleanser, this ingredient makes the difference between superficially clean and truly hydrated clean.
Allantoin: Stimulates cell renewal and has a smoothing effect. With daily cleansing where dead skin cells are naturally removed, allantoin supports the regeneration process so the skin looks finer and more even — a subtle bonus that builds up with long-term use.
Glycerin: A classic humectant that in this formula acts as a carrier for the other moisturizing ingredients. Glycerin ensures the foam glides smoothly over the skin without mechanical irritation and contributes to the soft skin feeling afterward.
Mild plant-based surfactants (Coco-Glucoside, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate): The cleansing effect comes from a combination of gentle surfactants derived from coconut and sugar, not from classic sulfates. These surfactants are biodegradable, mild on the skin barrier, and effective at dissolving sebum and makeup without disturbing the acid mantle.
How to use
- Lightly moisten the face with lukewarm water
- Press the pump once or twice to dispense the foam directly
- Spread over face, neck, and décolleté with circular motions
- Work briefly over the eye area — the foam does not sting the eyes
- Gently massage the foam in for about one minute for optimal effect
- Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water and pat the face dry
- Follow with Herbal Care Lotion or Activating Skin Tonic and your day care
Tip: For a more intensive effect or a mild peeling result, you can apply the foam with a cleansing brush. The soft foam maintains its structure for a long time, even when using a brush.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference with the Super Soft Cleanser from the same line?
Both cleansers come from the Essential line but work on different principles. The Super Soft Cleanser is a cleansing milk with natural oils (jojoba, avocado, shea butter) that specifically nourishes dry and sensitive skin during cleansing. The Soft Foam Cleanser is a cleansing foam with mild plant-based surfactants — suitable for all skin types, including combination or lighter skin that cannot tolerate a rich milk. Which suits you depends on your skin type and your texture preference.
Does this foam dry out the skin like classic foam cleansers?
No, and that is by design. Classic foam cleansers use aggressive sulfates (such as SLS) that efficiently remove oil but also break down the skin’s natural lipids. The Soft Foam Cleanser works with mild plant-based surfactants from coconut and sugar, supplemented with betaine and inositol that hydrate during washing. Result: a thoroughly clean face without tightness.
Does this foam also remove waterproof mascara?
For light to regular mascara, the foam works excellently, even around the eye area — the foam does not sting the eyes. For heavy waterproof products or long-wear foundation, we recommend first using a separate eye makeup remover, followed by the Soft Foam Cleanser for the whole face.
How long does a 120ml bottle last approximately?
With daily use morning and evening using one to two pumps each time, a bottle lasts about two to three months. The pump mechanism is deliberately dosed to prevent overdosing — an essential advantage over a tube that quickly dispenses too much.
Can this foam also be used on children or babies?
For younger children, this foam is mild enough and does not sting the eyes. For very young children or babies, we do recommend a specific baby product, as their skin is even thinner and more sensitive than an adult’s. For teenagers with normal to combination skin, this is an excellent first step in a daily routine.
