Jane Iredale Amazing Base Mineral Powder SPF15 Mahogany 10,5g

Deep mineral powder foundation SPF15 for warm-red, rich skin tones

A mahogany skin tone is not just a simple dark—it is a deep, warm reddish-brown color with pronounced red undertones that give the skin a distinctively rich, woody glow. That red warmth is exactly what makes this skin tone special, but also what most foundations completely miss. The result: coverage that appears too flat, too brown without red depth, or too light to capture the full richness of the complexion.

The Jane Iredale Amazing Base Mahogany is tailored to that exact color profile and provides a micronized mineral coverage that fully acknowledges the warm reddish-brown depth of the skin. With a customized mineral formula of 6.5% titanium dioxide and 1.2% zinc oxide, this shade offers broad-spectrum SPF15 protection that remains completely transparent on the skin—no gray cast, no color disruption, but a luminous finish that lets the mahogany richness of the complexion radiate from within.

Active ingredients

Titanium Dioxide (6.5%): The reduced concentration of titanium dioxide in the Jane Iredale Amazing Base Mahogany is a deliberate formula choice that leaves the warm-red depth of the skin tone completely untouched. The finely milled mineral particles adhere transparently to the skin and add a subtle light reflection that visually deepens the mahogany richness of the complexion—without any white cast or color distortion.

Zinc Oxide (1.2%): Additional broad-spectrum protection in a customized concentration that fully preserves the pronounced warm-red color of a mahogany skin tone. The soothing effect of zinc oxide actively neutralizes irritation and unevenness without affecting the color depth of the complexion in the slightest.

Boron Nitride: On a deep skin tone with red undertones, Boron Nitride provides a velvety quality that visually deepens the warm reddish-brown richness of the Mahogany shade. The three-dimensional light diffusion effect gives the skin a full, vibrant glow with the mahogany warmth shining through from every angle.

Algae extract: Actively hydrates and soothes the skin while the powder is worn. On a deep skin tone where vibrancy and a hydrated appearance are essential to maintaining the red-warm color richness, algae extract helps preserve the skin’s moisture throughout the day.

Pomegranate extract (Punica Granatum): An antioxidant-rich ingredient that actively protects the skin against UV-related oxidative damage. For a deep skin tone where an even, clear texture forms the basis for a full, rich color radiance, this extract provides valuable long-term protection of skin quality.

Plankton extract: Strengthens the skin barrier and increases the skin’s resistance to daily environmental influences. A strong barrier is the quiet foundation behind a deep mahogany skin tone that radiates its warm red-brown richness uninterrupted day after day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the Jane Iredale Amazing Base Mahogany and Cocoa?

Cocoa is the deepest shade in the line — an intense chocolate brown color with neutral dark undertones. The Jane Iredale Amazing Base Mahogany has pronounced red-warm undertones that give the skin a distinctive mahogany richness. Both shades use the adjusted SPF15 formula that completely eliminates a white cast on deep skin tones.

Why does Mahogany have SPF15 instead of SPF20?

For the deepest shades in the Amazing Base line, the mineral concentration is deliberately lowered. A higher concentration of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide — as found in the lighter shades — causes a white or gray cast on deep skin tones that disrupts the natural color richness. With 6.5% titanium dioxide and 1.2% zinc oxide, Mahogany offers full broad-spectrum SPF15 protection, perfectly matched to the deepest skin tones.

Can I also use the Jane Iredale Amazing Base Mahogany as a targeted concealer on problem areas?

Yes. Use the Flat Eye Brush for targeted spot application on imperfections or uneven tone differences. Then finish with the Powder Complexion Brush for a smooth, seamless transition over the entire face.
