Jane Iredale PureBrow

Eyebrow makeup collection for definition, filling, and fixation

The eyebrow determines the expression of the face more than any other makeup factor. For a complete and long-lasting result, one product is rarely enough — most women combine definition, filling, and fixation to achieve exactly that polished effect that a single pencil or gel cannot provide. Jane Iredale therefore developed the PureBrow range: four product types, each fulfilling its own function and together covering every eyebrow need.

The complete jane iredale eyebrow collection consists of two pencils (fine and broad), a fixing gel, and a soft powder. Those who want to create their ideal jane iredale eyebrow kit can choose here the products that match their own eyebrow type: from precision definition for full eyebrows to diffuse filling for sparse blonde brows. On this page, you will find the four subcategories with advice on when each type is the right choice.

How do you choose the right Jane Iredale eyebrow product?

The choice between a jane iredale eyebrow pencil, gel, or powder depends not on preference but on need. Eyebrows with an intact shape that only require definition benefit from a pencil that imitates individual hairs. Eyebrows that have become sparse over time, due to plucking or hormonal changes, benefit more from a powder that fills the area diffusely. And for eyebrow hairs that stray throughout the day, a fixing gel is the recommended addition. In practice, most women combine two to three products from the PureBrow line into their own jane iredale eyebrow kit — the core of this range is that freedom of combination.

Which type of PureBrow suits you?

PureBrow Precision Pencil: The fine twist-up tip of this jane iredale eyebrow pencil is designed for hair-by-hair technique. Ideal for women with an existing eyebrow shape who only want to draw individual hairs or touch up small gaps. Six shades from Ash Blonde to Soft Black and waterproof.

PureBrow Shaping Pencil: The teardrop-shaped tip of this jane iredale eyebrow pencil combines a broader and a finer side. The broad side fills and shapes, the fine side defines the contour — 3-in-1 in one pencil. Recommended for eyebrows that need not only definition but also structure and volume. Also available in six shades.

PureBrow Brow Gel: A creamy jane iredale eyebrow gel that coats, fixes, and simultaneously thickens the eyebrow hairs thanks to wheat protein and algae extract. Available in seven variants, including one clear. Ideally suited over a pencil for longer wear, or solo for women with full natural eyebrows who only want grooming and tint.

PureBrow Brow Powder: This jane iredale eyebrow powder diffuses color softly over the eyebrow area and provides a gentle, natural filling without a drawn-on effect. Ideal for sparse eyebrows that have lost volume over time. Six vegan and wheat-free shades and to be used with the separate Eye/Brow Brush.

Tips for the right choice

The most important rule of thumb for any product from the PureBrow range: choose no more than half a shade darker than your own hair color. This applies especially to the jane iredale eyebrow pencil in Shaping version, because the broader application visually intensifies the color impression.

For full eyebrows that only need styling: one Precision Pencil is sufficient, optionally with clear gel for extra fixation.

For average eyebrows seeking shape and definition: combine a pencil with a gel in the same shade. This combination delivers the longest-lasting jane iredale eyebrow look.

For sparse or very thin eyebrows: choose a jane iredale eyebrow powder for diffuse filling, optionally combined with a Precision Pencil to precisely define the tail of the eyebrow. This combination forms the most complete jane iredale eyebrow kit for mature brows.

For red hair: only the Auburn variant has the right warm red undertone. Available in pencil, gel, and powder.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I combine all PureBrow products into one jane iredale eyebrow kit?

Yes, the range is designed as a system. A typical complete jane iredale eyebrow kit combines a pencil (Precision for definition or Shaping for shape), a powder for diffuse filling, and a jane iredale eyebrow gel for fixation. These three products cover each other's weaknesses and together provide the longest-lasting result.

What is the difference between the Precision Pencil and the Shaping Pencil?

The Precision Pencil has an ultra-fine tip and draws individual hairs — suitable for existing eyebrows that are being touched up. The Shaping Pencil has a teardrop-shaped tip that shapes and fills in one stroke — suitable for building a complete eyebrow shape. Both variants of this jane iredale eyebrow pencil use the same base formula with vitamins C and E.

Is the jane iredale eyebrow gel vegan and wheat-free?

Only the Clear variant is both. The six pigmented shades of the jane iredale eyebrow gel contain beeswax for structure and Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein for the volume effect, so they are not vegan or wheat-free. Those seeking both properties in a colored product can opt for the jane iredale eyebrow powder — that range is completely vegan and wheat-free in all shades.

Do I need a separate brush for the jane iredale eyebrow powder?

Yes, the matching Eye/Brow Brush from Jane Iredale is sold separately and recommended for controlled application. A regular eyeshadow brush provides less precision on the eyebrow shape because the hairs are too wide or too soft for this specific use.

Do these products work for mature eyebrows that have become thinner?

Yes, the PureBrow line is especially suitable for this target group. The nourishing ingredients (vitamins C and E in the pencils, algae extract in the gel, Panthenol in the powder) support the remaining eyebrow hairs with daily use. The pencil plus powder combination is often the most effective jane iredale eyebrow kit for mature brows.
